Sheffield Wednesday transfer rumors from the last week of the window

Sheffield Wednesday have had one of the EFL’s busiest transfer windows to date, but they have no intention of stopping their recruitment just yet.

Sheffield Wednesday have always looked ready to commit to a big transfer window this summer, especially after Danny Rohl committed his future to the club.

It’s safe to say that the window lived up to expectations. Nine new faces came through the door at Hillsborough and even more were linked to a Hillsborough switch.

Many clubs will begin to ramp up their recruitment efforts as pre-season campaigns begin and the European Championships come to a close. The Owls will still benefit from their early business, giving Rohl time to work with his new recruits while the players have plenty of time to settle in.

Speculation persisted last week, so here, we bring you all the Sheffield Wednesday transfer rumors from the last seven days of the window…

halfback Nathaniel Chalobah he was available for nothing after his contract at Championship rivals West Brom expired. Reports linked the former Chelsea man with a move away from Sheffield Wednesday last week and the Owls duly completed his signing.

He arrives on a free transfer, although the announcement did not reveal the length of his deal.

Nor was Chalobah the only signatory last week. Charlie McNeill it also came for free.

In terms of linked players though, recent star loan Ike Ugbo he was the subject of an early bid from Sheffield Wednesday. So says reporter Mike McGrath, who made the revelation on X.

The Canadian striker was a huge success on loan at Hillsborough last season and has been heavily linked with a permanent return. Time will tell if the Championship side can reach a deal with French second-tier side ESTAC Troyes, with other clubs keen.

Elsewhere, Football Insider said he made an offer to the winger on Wednesday Scott Wright, who is on the cards at Rangers. When asked about a possible deal, Danny Rohl remained coy.

Last but not least, reports in France have credited the Owls with an interest in the Saint-Etienne defender Michael Nade.

His contract with the French club is over. However, they have made a fresh bid for him and Championship rivals West Brom have also spoken to the centre-back’s representatives.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

What could be in store this week?

The scale of the business done by Sheffield Wednesday already this summer probably means there probably won’t be too many hectic transfer weeks before the start of next season.

However, looking at the next seven days, they could expect further developments regarding the interest of Ugbo, Wright and Nade.

Troyes may respond to the Owls’ bid for Ugbo. A decision could also be made by Nade as he looks to find a new club to pay his wage demands following the end of his contract with Saint Etienne.

As for Rangers Wright, he too could have a decision to make after receiving an offer by Wednesday.
