Prince William ‘welcomes’ as he takes ‘tough line’ against Prince Harry

The Prince of Wales has often stepped forward to support his father, King Charles. With both the monarch and Catherine, Princess of Wales facing health problems, Prince William has been seen stepping in and helping out.

Prince William’s steady and determined manner is said to mirror that of his late grandfather Prince Philip. The Duke of Edinburgh was known for his straightforward approach and iron rule over the royal family.

Now, a royal commentator has probed whether Prince William is filling his late grandfather’s shoes. Former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond has now wondered if he is the new ‘enforcer’ of the royal family.

In an interview with OK! magazine, Bond said: “William has always been a strong character. I think his broken childhood made him tough and determined.

“Now he has a reputation for being stubborn, and once he’s made up his mind, he sticks to his decision.” She added: “Obviously, as heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family and I think it’s true that he’s been prepared to take a hard line on a number of issues, including Andrew and Harry.

“I’m not so sure if he’s the ‘new cop.’ But he is certainly someone who commands respect in the family and whose opinions carry considerable influence.”
