Loan report – Wigan Warriors

TWO WARRIORS WENT ON LOAN ACTION FOR LEEDS RHINOS AND HULL FC IN THE BETFRED SUPERLEAGUE.

Warrington Wolves 30-18 Leeds Rhinos

Sam Eseh Jr made his first start for the Rhinos at prop forward in a defeat to Wolves at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday night.

The forward made 24 tackles in the encounter which saw Warrington take a two-score lead inside the first five minutes with efforts from Matty Ashton and Matt Dufty. Leeds responded through David Fusitu’a but Wolves added two more converted scores from Dufty and Rodrick Tai to go in with a 24-4 lead.

The Rhinos responded well from the restart with Lachlan Miller crossing and Ned McCormack also scoring his first career try. Tom Whitehead hit back for Warrington but Leeds responded through Paul Momirovski who crossed late on for the away side as Warrington took the spoils.

Hull FC 10-24 Hull KR

Tiaki Chan came off the bench for Hull FC as the home side were on the losing side of the Hull derby.

A quick start from Hull KR saw Sue, Lewis and Storton all center in the opening 20 minutes, Mikey Lewis converting all three to give the away side an 18-0 half-time lead.

There was a second-half reply from the home side though as Lewis Martin and Logan Moy went back-to-back to reduce the score to 10-18, but it wasn’t enough as Hull KR confirmed victory through a final attempt. full-time hooter from Minchella to make it 24-10.
