Popular Manchester cafe offering hundreds of free drinks for one day only

A popular Manchester city center cafe is giving away 200 free iced drinks tomorrow (July 16).

200 Degrees, opposite Manchester Art Gallery on Mosley Street, is launching its new summer menu with a free iced drink to the first 200 people who visit. From 10.30am on Tuesday (July 16), the fastest customers will be able to sample one of five new specialty drinks on the house.

The new range includes Iced Spanish Matcha, Salted Caramel Oat Iced Twist, Cold Brew, Dirty Iced Oat Chai and a Mango Peach Iced Tea. If you’re one of the lucky ones in line, you’ll get to choose which one to try for free.

Alongside the drinks is the coffee chain’s summer dessert offering, which includes a yuzu lemon tart, raspberry milk cake and, what will be a popular choice, a better cream cake.

There’s also a revamped sandwich menu, which, while offering tempting combinations including chicken and pesto, brie and chorizo and pork, so far lacks a vegan or even vegetarian option.

The arrival of a new batch of iced drinks also seems to have been perfectly timed. After what seems like weeks on end of cloud and drizzle, the British summer has been disappointing so far, but temperatures are finally set to rise this week – with a high of 25 degrees expected on Friday.

But the British drink iced coffee all year round, whatever the weather. The Grocer has forecast iced coffee sales to grow by more than 35% in 2022, and the popularity of matcha and other specialty drinks has also boomed in recent years.
