Leeds United are set to sell Glen Kamara this week and the midfielder is set to undergo a medical in Rennes on Tuesday.

The Whites’ transfer window has so far been largely dominated by exits from the club and he is set to leave the midfield shortly ahead of this week’s first friendlies.

Archie Gray is set to be followed from Elland Road by Glen Kamara this week as a move abroad looks set to materialise.

Glen Kamara medical imminent at Rennes as Leeds sale looms

A deal was agreed at the weekend for Kamara to leave the club after a year at Elland Road, moving to Rennes in Ligue 1.

Fabrizio Romano has passed on these reports now with an update that the £8.6m deal is now in its final stages as a medical is scheduled for Tuesday:

All parties have agreed the deal with Kamara happy to leave the club and move to France, leaving Leeds with a potential PSR profit of up to £5m.

Sources have indicated to LeedsAllOver, as they reported on Friday night, that the club do not see new signing Joe Rothwell as Kamara’s replacement, meaning the Finn’s departure will trigger the club to move to sign a new midfielder.

Selling Kamara makes sense with the smart profit made on the 28-year-old

When Leeds signed Kamara for £5m, it looked like a deal that we wouldn’t have much resale value, but that wasn’t the case.

A decent return on him has us finding a very good replacement for him in the coming weeks before the season starts.

It would be safe to assume that his departure from the club would see us scrambling to find a new signing to replace him.
