Bradford, UK hospital introduces CPR training kiosk

Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) has installed a CPR training kiosk in the hall, the first of its kind in an NHS hospital. Patients, visitors and hospital staff can use the kiosk’s built-in mannequin and on-screen guide to learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), according to a BBC report.

Eve Flockton, head of resuscitation training at Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust, told the news outlet she cannot stress how important CPR is. “It can save a life, as simple as that,” Flockton told the BBC. “Everyone should know how to do CPR effectively because you never know when you might need it. Chances are it’s someone you know, because most cardiac arrests happen at home or at work.”

The kiosk is fully automated and takes just 90 seconds to teach users the basics of CPR, according to the report.
