‘Most Absurd’ road sign sparks outrage as locals say it’s ‘ridiculous’ | Cornwall Live

A speed limit sign installed in a village in Cornwall has left people stunned – as it was installed in the middle of a footpath. The 30mph sign in Tuckingmill, near Camborne, looks incredibly out of place as everyone using the path, including mobility scooter users, will have to avoid the post to get by.

Local resident Mr Berry labeled the location “absolutely ridiculous”, pointing out the inconvenience it was causing to pedestrians and families in the area. He expressed his disbelief at the decision, calling it “most absurd” – saying it was an obstruction to everyday activities such as walking dogs or visiting local parks.

A spokesman for Cormac, a Cornwall Council company, said: “We are implementing the 20mph limit scheme in Camborne, Pool, Illogan and Redruth to make the roads safer, healthier and greener for everyone. Although we have installed a significant number of new roads. signs, the sign in Tuckingmill was positioned incorrectly.

“We have already identified this issue and the post will be relocated to a more appropriate location. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
