The Metropolitan Police’s Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman said: “All our inquiries and appeals have failed to locate Aron and I am deeply saddened to accept that this is now a homicide investigation.

“Aron’s family are understandably upset and we are doing everything we can to help and support them.

“I would ask anyone who is reporting and has not yet contacted the police to think about the effect their silence is having on this family. I want to reassure the witnesses that we have specialist officers ready to take your call and support you.

“Aron was last seen being forced into a dark colored BMW hatchback, registration RF12 0ZA, in Ley Street, Ilford. We are also appealing for anyone who knows the whereabouts of the car or its occupants to contact the police immediately.”

Speaking about the CCTV footage, Kato’s twin sister Sharon said: “The way they dragged him and took him, no human being should do such a thing.

We feel lost. You know you want something so bad, but you can’t find it. You dream, wanting it, but you just don’t know where it is.

“The whole family, our life has been put on hold. Every Sunday, as a family, we gather, but even now when we meet, it’s as if a head is missing.

In an earlier appeal to find him, his girlfriend Chanel Naidoo described him as “the most joyful, happy and genuine family man who would do anything to help anyone”.

Crimestoppers is offering a £10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for his disappearance and murder.
