Leicester City are eyeing a move for Oliver Skipp

Leicester City are keen to sign Tottenham graduate Oliver Skipp as they look to strengthen their squad following their return to the top flight.

According to a report from Football Insider, Leicester City are looking to ensure they have enough quality in their squad to survive in the Premier League. They are looking to strengthen their midfield following the departure of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Tottenham’s Oliver Skipp is on the radar.

Skipp has risen through the ranks at the north London club at some pace. He was promoted to their first team in 2018. He even had a loan spell at Norwich during that time. Despite being around for years, he hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular starter.

In Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge, he managed just 24 appearances, most of which came from the bench. While the academy graduate is an important squad player, Spurs look set to take advantage of him as he will represent pure profit.

Leicester are looking for a replacement for Dewsbury-Hall

Leicester City are one of the clubs who are interested in the services of the 23-year-old, who prefers to play as a defensive midfielder but can also play in an advanced role as well as a defender when required.

The Foxes recently parted ways with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who was instrumental in their return to the top flight. The 25-year-old completed a move to giants Chelsea in a deal worth around £30million.

Now, to ensure they survive in the Premier League, they want to bring in a quality replacement. The Foxes want someone who has already played in the top flight for England and can slot into their starting XI without too much trouble. They feel the Tottenham graduate could be ideal for them as he has some experience under his belt and will improve with time.

They are lining up a move for the English sensation who could be delighted to have the opportunity to play regular first-team football. While Spurs are ready to sanction his departure, they will not let him go cheap. With his contract until 2027, Tottenham will have the upper hand in negotiations and could demand a significant fee.
