A new Golden Boy, Manchester United have what every European club dreams of after signing Leny Yoro

The signing of Leny Yoro has now certainly made Manchester United the envy of every other club in Europe, as evidenced by the Golden Boy rankings.

In the last 48 hours, Manchester United have completely turned the world of football on its head by signing generational talent Leny Yoro from Lille.

The 18-year-old defender has completed his medical at Carrington and could be announced at any moment after Ineos moved decisively to pry him from the clutches of Real Madrid.

It’s a move that could define the opening summer of the new era at Old Trafford and could see the world’s best defensive talent arrive.

This will leave every other club in Europe envious of the trio United now boast.

Leny Yoro is Manchester United’s third Golden Boy nominee

Yoro’s arrival will see him join Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo at the club as world-class young talents, which bodes very well for the club going forward.

The defender will fit in perfectly alongside Garnacho and Mainoo, all three of whom are outstanding players in their position for their age and have the potential to be world beaters – although in many ways they already are.

This means United will now have three of the top 10 Golden Boy nominees for 2024 in the club’s ranks.

  1. Yamine Yamal – Barcelona
  2. Joao Neves – Benfica
  3. Alejandro Garnacho – Manchester United
  4. Warren Zaire-Emery – PSG
  5. Leny Yoro – Lille (Manchester United)
  6. Savio – Manchester City
  7. Kobbie Mainoo – Manchester United
  8. Aleksandar Pavlovic – Bayern Munich
  9. Pau Cubarsi – Barcelona
  10. Rico Lewis – Manchester City

That’s more than any other club, with City and Barcelona both having two in the top 10, but United coming out on top. Something that Ineos will be proud of.

Europe will be watching United’s rising talent level with jealous eyes and it’s no surprise that these three are nothing short of phenomenal. But the young talent at Old Trafford doesn’t stop there.

Manchester United have a superb group of young players

For United, the youth talent pool outshines the three Golden Boy nominees. The team as a whole is young and we can add more names to the list of interesting names.

This also sees the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount and Diogo Dalot in their mid-20s, which is still not old in football.

For all the talent already in the first team and about to join, the academy is full of prospects like Harry Amass, Shea Lacey and Amir Ibragimov.

Exciting times at United now and we can’t wait to see who else Ineos decide to add.
