Gordon Ramsay reveals an unusual method to achieve ‘perfect’ pasta every time

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has shared two ‘essential’ and ‘secret’ tips to ensure your pasta doesn’t stick and achieves that perfect al dente finish. The beloved dish, known for its quick preparation, affordability and versatility, is a staple in many homes for both quick weekday meals and more elaborate weekend feasts.

However, getting the cooking process right can be tricky. Overcooked, pasta becomes a sticky mess, while undercooked, it’s unpleasantly tough, the Mirror reports.

Now TV chef Gordon Ramsay has developed his own perfected approach to cooking pasta ‘correctly’. The cursed chef’s method surprises some because he seasons his pasta both before and after cooking.

Here’s Gordon’s step-by-step method. He believes it will work every time.

You should start with a large pot to give the pasta “enough room” to cook evenly. The cold water should then be seasoned liberally with salt and olive oil added, a step Ramsay considers “absolutely crucial” to prevent sticking.

Next, bring the water to a vigorous, “rolling” boil, which, along with the oil, serves as another “secret” to keeping the pasta separated and moving. Gordon opts for angel hair pasta, a thin variety that cooks in just three and a half to four minutes.

However, he assures viewers that his method can be applied to any type of pasta – simply adjust the cooking time according to the package instructions. He suggests setting a timer to avoid overcooking.
