Jet2 announces change to travel to Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria from Birmingham

Jet2.com has announced that it will add a further 25,000 seats at five airports in the Canary Islands for winter 2024/2025. The travel company says that by adding three extra weekly services from Birmingham and East Midlands airports, it can meet “continued demand from customers and independent travel agents”.

Jet2 is currently the largest British tour operator in the Canaries and the largest UK airline in the region. From February to March 2025, there will be additional capacity for those wishing to travel to Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria.

The operator says it has increased its Winter Sun program capacity by 15%, selling 2.25 million seats to the Canary Islands. That’s more than 225 weekly departures from the UK.

For Brummies, this means additional weekly Sunday services to Lanzarote from 2 February to 23 March 2025 and weekly Sunday services in the same timeframe to Tenerife. Additional East Midlands Sunday services start on 16 February and run until 23 March 2025.

Jet2 has confirmed that its increased capacity will also mean additional services from Manchester, Bristol and Newcastle International.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy said: “The continued appeal of the Canary Islands as a Winter Sun favorite means we are adding even more options for customers and independent travel agents. The Canaries, we know how much tourists love these islands as a way to escape for some winter sun and we’re delighted to be stepping in again to meet the strong demand.
