Two cars collide near Enfield, County Meath, leaving a woman dead

CO MEATH, Ireland – An 80-year-old woman was killed following a road traffic collision on Wednesday afternoon.

The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.

The woman was driving a car on the R148 near Enfield, County Meath, when her vehicle collided with another car. The driver of the other car received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment.

The collision of two cars took place on Wednesday at around 14:00.

An examination of the scene by Garda Forensic collision investigators has since been completed. The road has been reopened.

Police investigators are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

All road users who may have dash cam footage (including dashcam) and were traveling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to the investigating police.
