Emergency services raced to pull a lorry onto the M4 as delays were expected

Emergency services are attending a lorry fire on the M4 westbound in Wiltshire.

Fire crews and police are on their way to the incident between junction 16 for Swindon and junction 17 for Chippenham this evening (Thursday).

The first 999 call is believed to have come in at around 6.30pm.

The highway may be closed to allow firefighters to tackle the flames and for the safety of motorists if there is significant smoke.
