Two arrested and Seat seized during crackdown on illegal vehicles in Coventry

Police have arrested two people and seized five vehicles in a crackdown on illegal driving in Coventry. Officers carried out patrols across the town on Monday (July 15).

Police say they are tackling illegal driving and parking in the city as part of Operation Galvanise. Officers seized five vehicles earlier this week, including a Seat, which they believed to be stolen, while the other four vehicles were either uninsured or untaxed.

Officers also stopped a car speeding in the town and a 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, Foleshill Police said at X. Officers impounded the vehicle and the suspect, who has not been named, was taken into custody for questioning.

Officers from Foleshill SNT also spotted a wanted man while patrolling the town on Monday (July 15). He was arrested on suspicion of assault, Foleshill police said.

A spokesman for Foleshill Police said: “We arrested two suspects and seized four vehicles as part of Operation Galvanize this morning (July 15). It brings specialist resources to the area to help reduce theft to and from motor vehicles. Most of the vehicles that were impounded had no insurance or no taxes.”
