Jet2, TUI, Ryanair, Easyjet passengers have been given a new ‘two hour’ airport rule.

Jet2, TUI, Ryanair and Easyjet passengers have been given a two-hour rule at the airport ahead of the spring and summer breakaway season. EasyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 and TUI have issued advice on how early you should get to the airport for your summer flight.

Easyjet says most flights will have an open airport baggage drop two hours before your flight. If you’re flying from London Luton, baggage claim opens three hours before, while from London Gatwick and Manchester it’s two and a half hours before, it says.

Jet2 says the desks will open 2.5 hours before the scheduled departure time. The airline, which flies from Birmingham Airport, says: “Please check this section of the website at least 12 hours before your flight for the latest flight information.

“Rest assured, in the event of a flight disruption, our dedicated operations teams are always working hard behind the scenes at our UK headquarters to get you on your way as soon as possible.” And it says TUI on its website: “Standard check-in opens at least two and a half hours before departure for short and medium flights.

“And at least three and a half hours before departure for long-haul flights. Arriving early will not mean you can check in or go through security early.” Ryanair says: ““We recommend that all passengers arrive at the check-in or baggage storage desk at least 2 hours before flying.

“If you have booked through an online travel agent, have been asked to check in your booking and wish to do so at the airport, please ensure that you arrive at the airport 2 hours before your flight.”
