Barrow Raiders hooker Aaron Smith says his side can right the wrongs of previous weeks by putting in a performance to be proud of against Sheffield Eagles this weekend.

The Raiders slumped to a 22-2 defeat against Batley Bulldogs last Sunday, a third successive defeat that leaves them second from bottom in the Betfred Championship.

“We need to fix a few things from the last few weeks and we’re confident we can get a result against Sheffield.”

The high-flying Eagles are currently in 2nd place after 11 wins from 15 games, but tasted their fourth defeat of the season in the previous round, losing 33-24 to Swinton Lions at home.

“Sheffield will be looking to bounce back from that defeat and so will we,” he said.

“We have to focus on what we have to do and not focus too much on anything outside our camp.

“It’s important for us to stay together. We have to look forward and we have to start getting some wins to climb up the ladder. We know what our group is capable of and we have to start showing that with our performances.”
