The new Guerrilla 450 expands the Royal Enfield range

Royal Enfield has added to its growing range of motorcycles with its new Guerrilla 450.

Sitting on the same Sherpa 450 platform that was used on the latest Himalayan, the Guerrilla 450 is designed to be a “premium modern roadster”, according to Royal Enfield, with a starting price of £4,850 in the UK.

It is powered by a 39bhp petrol engine that also packs 40Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. With slightly sportier geometry than other Enfield bikes, the Guerrilla 450 incorporates a number of other design cues, including a stepped seat, LED headlamps, integrated taillight and a raised muffler.

Up front is a 43mm telescopic front fork, which is combined with a monoshock rear suspension system to help increase comfort levels while maintaining good handling characteristics. Two dedicated rider modes – Performance and Eco – allow the rider to alter the bike’s throttle response when on the move, choosing between a sharper setting in the former or a more relaxed application in the latter.

A new four-inch Tripper dashboard setup is also featured on the Guerrilla 450. Here, when connected to the Royal Enfield smartphone app, it can display features like navigation, front-end music and weather forecasts.

As with other Royal Enfield models, the Guerrilla 450 can be extensively customized through a large number of accessories and add-ons. Highlights include engine and crankcase guards, a tinted windshield or dark mirrors for a more discreet look. A special Flat Track package can add a bench seat, silver sump guards and headlight grille, among other features.
