Man to appear in court charged with double murder after human remains found in Bristol and London

A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with the double murder of two men after human remains were found in two suitcases in Bristol and London.

Yostin Andres Mosquera, 34, of Scotts Road, west London, was charged on Monday morning with the murders of Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71.

Mr. Longworth was British and Mr. Alfonso was originally from France but had obtained British citizenship.

Assisted by a Spanish interpreter, Mosquera spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth in a brief hearing at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court.

The bodies were discovered by officers after receiving a report of a man acting suspiciously on the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol on Wednesday evening.

Other remains were found at the London address in Shepherd’s Bush on Friday.

The Metropolitan Police said earlier today that they are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the murders.

Mosquera is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.
