A thief terrorized the same London Boots store for two months, stealing £1,600 worth of goods

A thief who targeted the same Boots store in London for two months has been banned from an entire borough, City of London police have announced. Oyas Ali, 53, is a professional thief who stole more than £1,600 worth of items from Boots on Moorgate between May and June this year.

Ali, from Barnet Grove, already has 25 convictions, police said, with offenses dating back to 2007. The thief has now been banned from entering the city of London for five years, as well as being jailed for 14 weeks. jail for five counts of theft.




He was slapped with a Criminal Behavior Order at City of London Magistrates’ Court.

Inspector Dan Green, from the City of London Police’s Proactive Acquisitive Crime Team, said: “This is another great result of banning a prolific thief from entering the city and a reminder to criminals that we will bring them to justice.

“We will use all our resources to keep businesses and members of the public safe. Oyas Ali had committed these crimes and anti-social behavior without thought or regard for anyone he encountered.

“This CBO will act as a deterrent to recidivism. If Ali breaches his CBO, he could face jail time.”
