IT outages live: Leicestershire services affected and EMA flights delayed

Services in Leicestershire are affected this morning (Friday 19 July), including some flights delayed from East Midlands Airport, due to IT disruptions affecting organizations around the world. An EMA spokesman said Swissport, the ground handling firm for Ryanair and TUI, was experiencing some “failures” with its check-in systems.

The spokesman also said some flights were “waiting to depart” which “should have gone by now”. Passengers flying with Ryanair and TUI are urged to check with the airlines about the status of their flight. The spokesman said people should come to the airport as normal if they are flying this morning.
