Gatwick Express signal failure fixed as Overground services resume

Gatwick Express services have returned to normal after a fault in the signaling system between East Croydon and London Bridge.

An earlier London Overground fault between Sydenham and West Croydon was also resolved, while Network Rail fixed a signal fault at Penge West.

It came after trains between Heathrow Airport and London Paddington were hit with delays earlier due to a faulty line.

Commuters were also hit by long delays earlier in the week, with trains unable to run on the Victoria Line and part of the London Overground network.

There was no service on the Victoria Line for around half an hour on Monday morning due to a points fault at King’s Cross.

Meanwhile, there was no service on the Overground between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace, as well as to West Croydon, while Network Rail fixed a signal fault at Penge West.

The M25 in Surrey reopened this morning after being closed all weekend between junctions 9 and 10 for roadworks.

The stretch of road, between the A243 Leatherhead and the A3 Wisley, was closed in both directions from 9pm on Friday.

It was so that a new bridge consisting of 68 beams, each weighing 16 tons, and another four beams, weighing 40 tons, could be installed.
