Manchester United have made a decision over Antony’s future, according to a report.

United have been active in the transfer window so far, having signed 18-year-old Lille defender Leny Yoro in a deal worth up to £58.9m on Thursday, as well as Joshua Zirkzee earlier this month for £36.5m.

Meanwhile, there have also been exits, with Mason Greenwood completing a move to Marseille.

And according to ESPN, more United stars could be leaving.

It has been claimed that Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelöf, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen, who are out of contract in 2025, can leave on the right offer this summer.

Moreover, former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is also available despite having two years left on his current contract.

Meanwhile, Antony, who has struggled since an £86m move from Ajax to United, will be allowed to leave the club if he covers his £70,000-a-week wages.

Such clarity is something United have resisted in recent years due to the Glazers’ transfer policy.

“Joel and Avram (Glazer) would be happy to get rid of Wan-Bissaka or Lindelöf,” a source told ESPN.

“But they were looking at the numbers and asking, ‘How much could we get for them and how much would it cost to replace them?’ When told it would cost half as much to keep players out of contract rather than run out and sign a replacement, the response was always to keep them for another year.

“They would rather pay £10m in wages and lose the player for free than spend an extra £20m to sign a better player to replace them.”

Since the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the INEOS Group at the helm of the club, this policy has been consigned to history.
