West Midlands GPs and travel affected by IT disruptions

In a statement , externalon its website, KLM says there was “limited air traffic” due to the global computer outage and that it was working “tirelessly” to restore operations.

All passengers are advised to monitor the KLM website or app for the latest information regarding their flights.

“This means customers should expect delays and cancellations,” says a spokesperson.

“We urge passengers not to come to the airport if their flight does not depart or is seriously delayed.”

Most flights were “operating normally” but some check-in desks were “experiencing delays”, an airport spokesman said earlier.

Not all airlines were affected by the IT outage.

“The best advice for everyone is to check the airline or monitor our arrivals/departures pages on our website as all information once received from an airline will be updated there,” said one porter by word of mouth.

Nearly 1,400 flights were canceled worldwide and others were delayed.
