Leicestershire police officer arrested over indecent images of children faces misconduct hearing

A Leicestershire police officer who was arrested in connection with alleged offenses relating to indecent images of children is now facing a gross misconduct hearing. The officer in question is a ‘Special’, meaning he is a volunteer who has the same powers as regular police officers.

Leicestershire Police said Leicestershire Police. The force, when asked by LeicestershireLive, said it was currently unable to say whether that case was still pending.

The force also said the officer could not be named at this stage “for legal reasons”. Leicestershire Police have not released the gender of the officer or whether their arrest has led to any charges.

The serious misconduct hearing is scheduled to take place next week at the force’s headquarters in Enderby. Members of the public may attend. Anyone interested will need to register on the force’s website by 8am on Wednesday 24 July to do so.
