Man arrested as victim taken to hospital after stabbing on Croydon tram

One person has been taken to hospital after a stabbing on a tram in Croydon.

The victim suffered multiple stab wounds on Thursday, July 18.

They suffered injuries to their face, stomach, arm and leg.

A suspect has been arrested and an investigation is being conducted by British Transport Police.

Croydon MPS tweeted: “We would like to inform our community of a recent incident which took place on a tram in Croydon.

“One victim was attacked and suffered multiple stab wounds, including injuries to the face, stomach, arm and leg.

“The victim was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

“The suspect was quickly apprehended and arrested by Croydon officers.

“British Transport Police (BTP) are now leading the investigation which is ongoing.

“Our thoughts are with the victim and his family at this difficult time.

“We would also like to thank the public for calling 999 straight away and providing first aid before the emergency services arrived at the scene.”
