London Underground map which is “more correct for South London” which was drawn up by the little boy

A south London mother has shown off her son’s imaginative redesign of the tube map to ‘make it fairer in south London’, and it has been met with a lot of admiration online.

The lad’s vision includes ambitious extensions to several tube lines and a significant increase in the tram network, even proposing a new line crossing the Thames to win over north Londoners, adding obscurely “for joining north London”.

Its proposals include extending the Elizabeth line to Gatwick Airport and South Bromley, extending the Piccadilly line to Biggin Hill and branching the Central line to Coulsdon Town.

He doesn’t stop there; the District line and London Overground would extend to Orpington, while the Jubilee and Northern lines would see new stops in Sutton and Epsom.

The Circle Line would make a large detour south to pass through Wandsworth, Brixton and Peckham and the DLR would find its terminus in Gravesend.

Under his plan, the Hammersmith and City line would make tracks for Kingston and the Bakerloo line would end its journey at Hayes.

However, it is the tram network that is getting the most dramatic change, with proposed extensions creating routes to Orpington, Watford Junction, Staines and even the Chessington theme park.
