Woman turns white trainers ‘brand new’ with 85p Home Bargains

We’re all familiar with the sinking feeling that comes when faced with a cleaning task we’d rather avoid, especially when it comes to dirty trainers or those that have lost their luster over time. But one savvy woman has discovered a trick to banish your shoe cleaning woes using sterilizing liquid.

TikTok user @candice. Dickinson revealed the clever tip that transformed her white shoes back to their brightest. The text overlaying her video exclaimed: “Wow, look at the before and after!”

In her TikTok clip, Candice showed off her dirty white shoes, commenting: “So here are the shoes I said I was going to make a video about sterilizing them with the cheap sterilizing liquid. You can’t really see it, it doesn’t seem like it. bad in the video, how faded they are gone, but here I’m going to take a quick look at the front as well.”

Candice then demonstrated placing the trainers in a basin of hot water, followed by pouring a whole bottle of Dr Johnson Sterilizing Liquid from Home Bargains and leaving them to soak. She noted, “I used a bottle full of this. I think it was only 85p,” reports the Mirror.

“And now I’ll go and let them soak.” She said she had to weigh down the trainers with plates to make sure they remained fully submerged in the solution.

After this, she jumped to the bottom line, revealing significantly whiter shoes than before. She explained: “And here’s the end result. So I let them soak for about two hours and then I put them in the washing machine on 40, and they came out absolutely flawless. So I would highly recommend it .”

The clip quickly went viral, garnering over 32,400 views, hundreds of likes and numerous comments from viewers eager to test the tip. One user commented: “Oh I’m going to try this,” while another enthused: “Wow, I’m going to show my girls this brilliant idea.”
