Urgent hunt for man who escaped from south London hospital

Police are searching for a man who escaped from a hospital in south-west London.

Any member of the public who sees him is urged not to approach him and call 999 instead.

At around 10.10pm last night (Friday July 19), three men fled Springfield Hospital, Glenburnie Road, after smashing a glass door.

A man was arrested at around 12.45pm today (July 20) at a residential address in south London.

He was returned to the hospital.

Ramon Martin, 31, has since been apprehended in the Clapham Junction area and is being returned to hospital.

The other wanted man has been identified as 20-year-old Adil Maxamed.

He was admitted to hospital under the Mental Health Act.

At 10.35pm last night the two men boarded a Northern Line train at Tooting Bec station.

Applications are ongoing and Maxamed has links to Kingston.

Anyone who may have seen either of them is asked to call 101, ref 8713/19jul.

For an immediate observation, the police ask you to call 999.
