Jadon Sancho promises a bright future for Manchester United after making an encouraging return against Rangers

Manchester United got their first pre-season win at the second attempt, goals from Amad and Joe Hugill in either half seeing them to victory.

The match was notable for many things apart from the win as Leny Yoro made his United debut and many first team stars returned to action.

One of those, whose return was never expected when the summer started, was Jadon Sancho, who started on the left.

Amad was the star of the show on the opposite wing, but it was an encouraging return to the team for Sancho as well, promising a bright future.

Jadon Sancho impresses against Rangers

The match against Rangers was a welcome one for Sancho as the Scottish side also start their season instead of being in the middle like Rosenborg.

Sancho looked sharp and took nice positions between the lines. He had the confidence to take his man and showed nice creativity in tight spaces.

He missed a guilty chance to re-introduce himself with a bang when he shot over from Amad’s brilliant pass.

His attacking enterprise was clear to see as he completed 100% of his dribbles (3/3) and created a chance with a clever link-up in the final third.

Air was also a willing worker as he consistently dropped back to help young Sam Murray in defence, winning 4/6 duels when the game turned dire.

Like a new signature

It’s a cliché in football and especially in the context of this United team because they were missing so many players last season.

However, it is a perfect fit for Sancho, who was written off after last season and felt United were just waiting for a buyer for him. Despite being on the cards, he was not considered a United player.

Now, Ten Hag has already said that a line has been drawn and both sides are moving on, opening the door for his return.

With general good mood around the club, the hope will be that Sancho can continue his renaissance as he would not only save United millions in the market but also send a message to other clubs who have been circling a potential cut price. deal for the player.
