Top Wigan Warriors from Hull FC with incredible performances

Despite winning their last ten matches in a row, Wigan Warriors were beaten by Hull FC at the MKM Stadium today.

The Black and Whites took an early lead after Abbas Miski wreaked havoc with a high shot that allowed Jack Walker to give them their first score of the afternoon.

They kept the pressure on and went on to have a couple of strong sets before Jake Trueman came out on top.

The Warriors then hit back through Liam Marshall who made it 6-4 but Adam Keighran missed the resulting kick.

From there it was all Hull FC again and after another Wigan error, Liam Sutcliffe scored a converted try.

Yet another Wigan error paved the way for another try as Jake Trueman provided more good work for the Grix’s side and Davy Litten had a try.

At half-time, Hull FC were 18-4 up and there were questions about whether they could keep up after the break.

The answer came just minutes later when Denive Balmforth recovered a Jack Walker offload to extend their lead.

Wigan were denied a try by the video referee but the mistakes kept coming from the Warriors and midway through the second period FC still looked up.

Substitute Brad O’Neill scored against the run of play after a couple of missed chances for the home side and this seemed to turn the tide somewhat.

Despite this, a Jack Charles break eased the pressure briefly.

Jack Farrimond’s break was stopped by a big tackle by Davy Litten soon after, and a yellow card was issued, meaning Hull FC had to defend a 14-point lead with 12 men for eight minutes .

Liam Marshall needed just seconds to make the most of it, heading in at the corner to reduce the deficit, while another easy try after a break by Jake Wardle for Jack Farrimond was converted to make it two .

They were tired and a man down and suddenly a Wigan victory looked inevitable.

However, with just two minutes to go, Harry Smith kicked over and should have let FC run down the clock, but a failed 40-20 try meant the Warriors had the ball in hand in a good position, but ten seconds from the end. , Hull FC clawed back to seal a famous 24-22 win.
