Everton have informed Manchester United that Branthwaite is not for sale

Everton are trying to draw a line at Manchester United’s ill-founded pursuit of Jarrad Branthwaite, insisting no further bids are welcome for the young defender.

The Blues made their £70million valuation of Branthwaite clear when speculation emerged earlier this year that the Red Devils would follow up their interest with a bid this summer, but so far they have come no closer.

Two ludicrous bids of £35m and £45m from United have been rejected by Everton so far, according to David Ornstein in The Athleticthey have sent a clear message to Old Trafford that they have no intention of selling the 22-year-old in the current transfer window.

This despite the collapse of the Friedkin Group takeover bid, which was revealed yesterday in a joint statement by Everton and the Texas-based company, which had undertaken due diligence on the Club’s accounts and complicated debt structure.

The Friedkin Group’s withdrawal from negotiations for Farhad Moshiri has thrown Everton back into limbo, but insiders at the club say the situation will neither require the sale of Branthwaite who, along with Jordan Pickford, is their most marketable player, nor will demands the sale of Branthwaite. prevent more signatures being received before the transfer deadline.

Everton have already sold Lewis Dobbin and Ben Godfrey this summer, and Amadou Onana is expected to complete his move to Aston Villa this week, a move that could ultimately be worth £55m even without the buyout clause for sale that the Blues included in the trade. .

Meanwhile, Tim Iroegbunam and Iliman Ndiaye have arrived for fees from Villa and Marseille respectively, and the Toffees are linked with other moves for Napoli’s Jesper Lindstrøm (initially on loan) and Sparta Prague’s Ángelo Preciado for £7m .

Ornstein suggests that should further funds be raised before the end of next month, the club would look to move on players such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of Branthwaite.

Punch in the face, United. Now take a walk.

The side Everton will sell (after the player ’causes’ a problem).

We are back in limbo regarding the takeover. Friedkin’s withdrawal removed a lifeline. A fire sale scenario can no longer be ruled out. Branthwaite could very well have played his last game in an Everton shirt (with a badge sticking on!)

About damn time. Maybe a month ago would have been better. Typical shit, from a club in this club.

I don’t think Branthwaite will cause ‘and problem’. He has a long contract and so Everton are in control. Spurs did it with Kane. Unless it’s essential to sell it, and it seems like it isn’t, stand your ground.

Good.

Now tell them to bite me.

If they want Jarrad then they can pay the money Chelsea gave Caicedo last summer or they can just go and fix the leaks and get away.

Everton have let players go on the cheap too often over the years, the only time we ever held out was in the summer of 2015 and it worked in our favor as City came a year down with a bigger wallet fatty.

I think Man Utd buying Lenny Yoro probably paid for the Branthwaite deal.

So it’s a bit like texting a girl to say “we’re not exclusive anymore” a few weeks after she started dating someone else…

I’m glad Kenwright isn’t involved in any negotiations. They still owe us for underpaying Rooney and made us take him off the payroll when he was done.

Horribly arrogant club that Ratcliffe seems to fit in well.

Well, at least I wasn’t all “United have herpes, deal is off!”.

I hope this is true. If there’s one player I don’t want to lose, it’s Branthwaite.

Manchester United happened to come with reduced assets. I’m glad Everton stood up to them.

Anyone who has watched him can see that he is a class above his young years.

He will be a star. Let’s keep it as long as we can.

Whatever the ownership deal is, we will be moving to a New Stadium and I can only speak for myself, but I want us to keep our best players and build a squad that can keep us in the Premier League and push for trophies.

We’re building for the future, not the past, and any new owners who can help us along the way and bring that success will reap the rewards once we’ve got a few seasons under our belts.

Dean Williams (6): can you please explain why you see this as “Typical (sic) shite, from a (sic) from (sic) this club”.

Perhaps you could do it with your thought through reason and argument, and perhaps you could even do it without your trademark fakes and in United English.
