M18 traffic live updates as drivers get stuck in rush hour queues

Motorists traveling along the M18 near Doncaster are facing long delays this evening.

One lane is closed on the M18 J2 southbound slip (A1M interchange) due to a broken down lorry blocking the road. There is a 30-minute delay on the approach, with motorists stuck in up to four miles of congestion, a National Highways Yorkshire spokesman said.




The recovery of the vehicle is currently being arranged. It is currently unclear when the road will be fully reopened.

National Highways are urging motorists traveling in the area to allow extra time for their journeys.

All lanes reopen

All lanes have reopened on the M18 southbound exit at J2 (A1M junction).

The damaged truck has been removed and the delays in the area have been removed.

A National Highways Yorkshire spokesman said: “This vehicle has now been recovered and all lanes have reopened on the #M18 J2 (#A1M) southbound slip shoulder. There are no delays in the area. Thank you for your patience if you were detained earlier.”
