A man has been charged over a stabbing in Wigan town centre.

Police found a man injured on Market Street on Thursday – but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Esmaeel Mohammed, 19, of Avon Road, Wigan, was charged with the following offences:

• Robbery

• Section 18 injury

• Burglary

• Possession of bladed item

• Confusion

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 20 July 2024.

A man in his 30s, who was also arrested at the scene, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
