Met Office forecast highs of 28C for Coventry in mini heatwave with ‘plenty of sunshine’

A mini heatwave will hit Coventry and Warwickshire in just hours. Today (July 18) will be a warm day.

But according to the latest weather map from WX Charts, tomorrow (July 19) will be the hottest day yet, with a red wave sweeping across much of the country.

The latest online report from the Met Office says there will be highs of 28C in our region. It says: “A very warm and dry day with copious amounts of sunshine.”

However, locals should make the most of it as the rain will return on Saturday (July 20) with a few heavy showers, forecasters said. It will lead to a cooler weekend and start next week.

Today

Any early cloud breaks to provide a nice dry day with an increasing number of extended sunny spells. Feeling warm with light wind and high UV levels. Maximum temperature 25C.

This evening

Nice end to Thursday with some sunny late spells. Calm and dry overnight with mostly clear skies and broken clouds. Gentle. Minimum temperature 14C.

Friday

Very warm and dry day with plenty of sunshine and just some fair weather cloud. Light breeze and very high UV levels. Maximum temperature 28C.

Outlook for Saturday through Monday

Increasing risk of heavy showers on Saturday, becoming quite wet. Sunday, drier, brighter and fresher. Monday with showers and a cool feeling.
