The Leeds United duo are calling for a “massive” Elland Road push against Norwich City

Leeds United duo Liam Cooper and Ethan Ampadu sent messages to the fan base ahead of their Championship semi-final second leg against Norwich City on Thursday.

The first meeting between the two sides ended 0-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Whites walked away from Carrow Road without a shot on aggregate and will now look to book a place in the final in front of the Elland Road crowd. The two sides will meet for the second time on Thursday (May 16), with kick-off scheduled for 20:00.

The final will take place on May 26 (3pm kick-off) and the winner will face either West Bromwich Albion or Southampton at Wembley on Thursday. The first leg between these two teams also ended 0-0 at The Hawthorns.

A more defensive approach did the trick for Leeds boss Daniel Farke after another return to his former club on Sunday. However, they are likely to opt for a more attacking side in the next round, given the home advantage they have at their disposal. Leeds secured all three points against Norwich during the season with a 3-2 away win in October and a 1-0 home win in January.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming clash, defensive duo Cooper and Ampadu urged their fans to get behind the team in the crucial clash. Writing on X, formerly Twitter, Cooper quoted a video: “This x100 Thursday please. From the first to the last minute,” while Ampadu added, “We appreciate your support as always. All together for a massive boost on Thursday.”

Their team-mate Glen Kamara is confident the home crowd can push the Leeds side over the line and into Thursday’s final after reflecting on the first leg. “We came here trying not to concede a goal,” he told LUFC TV. “But obviously we wanted to win the game and that didn’t happen. I’m sure we can do it at home with full support and we’ll do well.

“I don’t think we gave them a lot of chances, generally in open play, maybe a couple of set pieces. In general I thought we were decent. I thought we were solid defensively and in open play I definitely knew we were very solid.
