Leeds United are teasing Sheffield United on social media after announcing the signing of Jayden Bogle

Leeds United announced their fourth signing of the summer on Saturday night in the form of Jayden Bogle from Sheffield United on a four-year deal and Leeds have teased Bogle’s old side.

Leeds have addressed their lack of options at right-back by bringing in 23-year-old Bogle, who has been a shining light in Sheffield United’s lackluster Premier League campaign in 2023-24.

While The Blades were relegated, Bogle still managed to score three league goals against Man City, Chelsea and Man United. His attacking quality is clear and Leeds managed to land his signature.

Despite entering the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane, Sheffield United initially rejected two bids worth £4m, but structured differently. However, Leeds eventually settled a £5m fee for Bogle.

Sheffield United try to reassure fans over Bogle sale

A transfer that suits all parties. Bogle was not going to sign a new deal at Sheffield United and the Blades needed to cash in to avoid losing him on a free, even if it meant selling him to a league rival.

Leeds have solved their right-back problem after Connor Roberts, Archie Gray, Luke Ayling, Cody Drameh and Jamie Shackleton left Elland Road this summer, although the club could yet have another corpse.

They have Bogle for £5m, perhaps a lower fee than it would have been if Bogle had stayed in the business longer. Sheffield United tried to reassure fans by telling X that Leeds had paid a “significant” fee.

Leeds respond by teasing Sheffield United after signing Bogle

The former Derby County star was given the number 2 shirt, a number that Ayling has worn over the years. Ayling has become a club legend of the modern era and Bogle will do well to live up to his feat.

But Leeds fans are excited about the prospect of Bogle, given Daniel Farke’s preference to bring his defenders up front and with Leeds dominating games, you’d expect this Leeds team to suit the star striker.

In response to Sheffield United’s ‘meaningful’ post, Leeds posted a ‘meaningful’ message of their own. They revealed the number Bogle would wear, teasing the Blades after the initial announcement.
