Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Rivals Price

Royal Enfield has dropped the Guerrilla 450 at a pretty good price. The roadster is the brand’s second offering in the Sherpa 450 platform, priced between INR 2.39 – INR 2.54 (ex-showroom). In this price range, you can get quite a few interesting bikes. Here is a list of five alternatives:

QJ Engine SRC 500 – INR 2.39

QJ Motor SRC 500 is a retro roadster, intended for relaxed driving. It is powered by a 480cc 2-valve air-cooled engine that produces 25PS and 36Nm. Its retro look is continued with the teardrop tank, low seat height and wide handlebars. The footpegs are set neutral, making the rider triangle very comfortable. The seat height of 800mm is higher than that of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 and so is the weight of 205kg. It’s a long bike with a long-stroke engine and likes to take things cold, even though the engine displacement is quite large. The retro feel continues with the twin-bridge instrument cluster, but this one is digital and has rather bright colored lights.

KTM 250 Duke – INR 2.40

In this price range when it comes to performance, the KTM 250 Duke is the best fit. It features a 249.07 cc liquid cooled engine that pushes out 31 PS and 25 Nm, both of which are 1 unit more than the previous bike. It has a cleaner power curve that shouldn’t be intimidating while cruising around town, but should keep things interesting on the highway. It is a sporty bike that should be considered if the goal is to have sporty handling even in the daily commute and rarely on the highway.

Harley-Davidson X440 (mid-range variant) – 2.59 lakh INR

The Made in India Harley comes in 3 variants and we always recommend getting the middle variant here. The HD X400 is powered by a 440cc engine that produces 27 PS and 38 Nm. It’s expected to be low because the engine runs less compression to produce less heat due to its air/oil cooling system. The engine is torque-tuned, making it effortless for city cruising. It gets a KYB USD fork, but the rear suspension is twin gas-charged shocks. This mid-range variant only gets Bluetooth connectivity and skips over diamond-cut alloy wheels. Triumph Scrambler 400X – INR 2.64

The Triumph Scrambler 400X is one of the most beautiful scramblers out there. This is due to its proper proportions, which also give it a tall seat height of 835mm. It has a 398.15 cc liquid cooled engine that produces 39.5 PS and 37 Nm which are quite similar to the Royal Enfield figures. The Triumph Scrambler 400X has a USD fork setup and monoshock suspension. This might be the bike to consider if you want something more adventure capable than the RE Guerrilla 450, but don’t stretch your budget all the way to the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Comfort is good and the bike can do pretty fast highway speeds while handling the heat of city traffic. The width of the handlebar is noticeably large in traffic and you have to be careful there. Handling is nice and precise and the bike doesn’t feel sluggish.

TVS Apache RTR 310 – INR 2.72

Competitively priced at INR 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the TVS Apache RTR 310 is a tempting proposition for riders looking for a sporty upgrade. At its heart is the BMW-developed 313cc single-cylinder engine that pumps out 35PS and 28.7Nm. This should be perfect for zipping through city traffic and providing exhilarating bursts of acceleration. While the base model uses a non-adjustable USD suspension setup, it still offers precise handling, making those tight corners a playground. For riders who want more control, the Dynamic Kit steps in with fully adjustable suspension, allowing them to tailor the bike’s responsiveness to their riding style and preferred terrain. This translates into a confidence-inspiring ride, whether you’re attacking a twisty mountain road or cruising city streets. However, it’s important to note that some riders have reported noticeable vibration at highway speeds, which could be a factor to consider for those planning longer rides.
