Person trapped in vehicle after late night crash in Cornwall

One person has been freed from a fire engine following a crash in Cornwall in the early hours of this morning. The single vehicle collision happened in Hayle in the early hours of today, trapping one person in one vehicle.

Emergency crews were alerted to the crash at 3.46am today, which happened along Tolroy Road, St Erth Praze in Hayle. A fire engine from St Ives and a rescue crew from Tolvaddon were sent to the scene to rescue the trapped person.




Firefighters used rescue equipment to pull the trapped person out of the wreckage. When crews rescued the person, they were left in the care of ambulance crews to be checked for injuries.

It is not known if the person suffered any injuries.

A statement from Cornwall Fire and Rescue said: “A crew from St Ives, along with a rescue tender from Tolvaddon, attended a call for a single vehicle road traffic collision.

“Crews used rescue equipment to extricate one victim from the vehicle. The victim was left in the care of the Ambulance, while the crews made the place safe.”
