No 4-year-old stolen from the Wakefield motel was in the Mercedes

Police have confirmed that no children were inside a Mercedes that was stolen from a Wakefield motel on Saturday.

It was initially reported that a 4-year-old child was inside a vehicle that was stolen from the Metro Motel on East 241st Street.

The NYPD said two people were responsible for the incident.

Police sources told News 12 the carjackers had a gun.

Police did not recover the car until Saturday evening.
