Sheffield United will beat Birmingham City on target

Birmingham City will miss out on one of their transfer targets as they prepare to join Sheffield United, according to Stella.

Blues boss Chris Davies is backed in the transfer market this summer, having just signed Iceland international Willum Thor Willumsson, and was keen to land Harrison Burrows from Peterborough United.

Burrows was expected to make the switch from the London Road side this summer as he is in the final year of his stylish contract.

A number of clubs have been chasing the left-back and Birmingham are set to lose out as Burrows is linked with Sheffield United.

The Blades, who lost Jayden Bogle to Leeds United on Saturday, have now completed a deal with Peterborough for Burrows.

The defender will be put on trial by Sheffield United next week.

Chris Wilder may be keen to proceed with the transfer quickly to avoid any threat of a late hijack attempt.

Preston North End are also among the clubs who have been keen to land Burrows This summer.
