Live: M1 crash closes motorway over 4 junctions in London near Brent Cross

A major motorway into London has been closed southbound following an accident this afternoon, Sunday 21 July. The M1 was closed for four junctions – between junction 4 near Elstree and junction 1 near Wembley.

The crash happened between Junction 2 of the A1 Watford Way (Barnet By-Pass) Fiveways Corner and Junction 1 of the A406 North Circular (Staples Corner), says traffic monitoring system Inrix.




The Metropolitan Police are on the scene, but it is not yet known how serious the accident was. A diversion route has been set up to avoid the crash site. Emergency services have been contacted for more information about this incident.
