Two people in hospital after reported assault in Staple Hill

Two people have been taken to hospital with suspected head injuries following reports of an assault in Staple Hill this morning (Saturday 4 May). At around 1.45am, Avon and Somerset Police received a report of an assault on High Street.

A police cordon was established following the incident. The cordon remains in place as investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.

The cordon runs from The Portcullis pub to the former Bristol Area Cardiac Support charity shop. Express Shoe Repairs is in the middle of the strip.

Witnesses said a forensics van was at the scene late this morning, which left the scene. Police remain on guard to protect the cordon.

Avon and Somerset Police said: “We received a report of an assault in High Street, Staple Hill, Bristol at around 1.45am today (Saturday, May 4). Two people were taken to hospital, both with suspected head injuries.

“Enquiries are being carried out to understand the circumstances of the incident and a cordon remains in place. If you were in the area at any time between 1.30am and 2am and saw anything, please call 101 quoting reference 5224113679.”
