Budding lawyer Ben, 26, from Golborne in Wigan, was reported missing on the Spanish island of Mallorca and has not been heard from for almost two weeks.

The 26-year-old was staying in a flat in Palma, the capital of the popular holiday destination, while he tried to find work – but has not been heard from for almost two weeks after he cut off contact with his mother Felix. He had traveled abroad for a dream break in June to visit a friend, before extending his stay and finding temporary accommodation.

LBT Global has since launched a direct online appeal and urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact them or their local police.

It read: ‘Benjamin Ross, 26, traveled to Palma to stay with a friend. He decided to extend his stay and try to find work. Benjamin was last known to be in an apartment in the nearby Baron de Santa Maria del Sepulcro. July 10, 2024. He has not been seen or contacted since.

“Benjamin is considered vulnerable and please if you see Benjamin please DO NOT APPROACH HIM but contact LBT Global and the information will be passed on to the appropriate authorities.

“Benjamin is 5ft 10in (178cm) tall and has an athletic build. He has brown eyes and short brown hair, curled on top. He has a scar on his chin. Benjamin’s family is extremely concerned for his well-being. Do you have any information? All information will be forwarded to the competent authorities.”

Ben’s heartbroken mum Felix has since revealed she flew to the Spanish island, landing on Saturday night (July 20) to begin door-to-door and ground searches in the area where he was staying.

Felix has since claimed that she started searching on her own because Interpol “doesn’t have the report” on her missing son and had to report him to the local police as missing and start doing her own inquiries.

Speaking from Palma, Felix said: “It doesn’t feel real. I followed the procedure that’s on the Government website and begged for help to get nowhere. I’m so worried for him now.

“I can’t really put into words how I feel. My son is still my son, no matter how old he is, he’s only 26 and I’m so worried.”

A GoFundMe page has also been set up to support Felix with the costs of accommodation, flights and food during his stay in Mallorca. The costs were described by her friend Carla as “astronomical” due to the peak summer holiday season.

A few weeks after Ben traveled to Majorca, Felix’s mother said she found out he had decided to extend his trip and find temporary work, that he had stolen all his belongings, including his wallet, phone and keys while swimming at the beach.

He later cut off contact with Felix, which she says left her worried about his mental state. She has not been able to contact Ben since July 10th.
