Kudus HOPE transfer, van Dijk assessment REVEALED

Here’s our round-up of Liverpool news for Sunday 21 July, with updates on Adrien Rabiot, Mohammed Kudus, Virgil van Dijk and Tyler Morton.

Kudus Transference Theory

Mohammed Kudus’ decision to switch agents has spawned a rather ambitious transfer theory among some Liverpool supporters on social media.

As the journalist revealed Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter)the West Ham United star “will now be represented by relatives and legal team following the decision to part ways with his former agents”.

While this change doesn’t necessarily suggest that Kudus will be on the move this summer, there is a section of Liverpool fans who hope that is exactly the case, with one in particular quite excited that the Ghana international is the first signing under the new boss . coach Arne Slot.

Of course, Kudus has been linked with a move to Anfield as he is reportedly seen as the perfect long-term successor to Mohamed Salah. Although the Reds may have to wait until next summer to secure his signature, as that’s when his £85m release clause becomes active again.

Gordon advised against a move to Liverpool

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes Anthony Gordon would be better off staying at Newcastle United than joining Liverpool this summer.

Linked to return to Merseyside – 18 months after leaving Everton – only for talks between the Reds and Magpies to break down due to a combination of the latter’s asking price and insistence on bringing in Jarell Quansah in a swap deal.

Although, it has been speculated that Liverpool could test Newcastle’s resolve with a bid for the England international before the summer transfer window closes.

A scenario Saha is keen to avoid as he explained why this summer would not be ideal for Gordon to be on the move again.

Van Dijk is open to the Saudi transfer

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has given the green light to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) over a potential summer transfer.

According to TEAMtalk, the Dutchman, who is out of contract next summer, has not ruled out becoming the latest high-profile name to leave Europe and join a Saudi Pro League club.

Moreover, the report states that van Dijk gave the green light to the Saudi negotiator to start talking with Liverpool after his entourage met with the PIF to better understand the proposal prepared for the centre-back.

Rabiot’s claim was rejected

Adrien Rabiot is currently without a club after leaving Juventus when his contract expired last month, but despite speculation he will not be joining Liverpool on a free transfer.

Interest in the Frenchman appears to be high and there were claims the 29-year-old was set to reject an offer from Anfield to sign for Manchester United.

However, the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele has revealed that there is absolutely nothing to such claims, doubling down on what fellow journalist Fabrizio Romano previously said about the transfer rumour.

“Liverpool are not interested in signing free agent Adrien Rabiot,” Steele wrote on X. “Quite a few reports are saying he’ll choose Manchester United over them. Liverpool have never been in the 29-year-old’s favor.”

However, if Liverpool’s valuation is not met, they are more than happy to keep hold of the midfielder. Although, he could find it very difficult to find first-team football next season if he remains, given the options, at the disposal of new head coach Arne Slot.
