Knife-wielding man jailed for ‘causing trouble on beach’

A man who was armed with a knife on a beach in Cornwall has been jailed for six months. The man was reportedly causing trouble on a beach near Padstow last month while in possession of a knife.

Police were called to Polzeath Beach on Tuesday June 25 following reports of a man causing trouble in the area.

When police teams arrived at the scene, they found a man in possession of a knife. He was arrested by officers from Bodmin and Wadebridge Police.

He was taken to Bodmin Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday, July 9). The man was sentenced to six months in prison.

A statement from Bodmin Police said: “Units attended and a man was arrested for being in possession of a knife. He appeared before Bodmin magistrates yesterday and was sentenced to 6 months in prison.”
