Interlocutor Kurt Geiger, Instagram peedo and ‘Vimto Hawk’ among nine criminals jailed this week

An Instagram pedophile, a thug who slammed another man into the window of a Kurt Geiger store and a rapist who “fell at the first hurdle” after his release from prison were among the Merseyside criminals jailed in the past week . Also jailed was Ian Fitzgibbon, who was identified as using the EncroChat handle “Vimto Hawk”.

Meanwhile, Liverpool Crown Court heard that a man hid almost £80,000 of ketamine in a storage unit. Here are the faces of nine defendants from our region who were jailed in the last seven days:

Andrew Prince

A convicted rapist has admitted he has “no excuses” after he was caught breaching sex offenders’ register requirements for the 12th time. Andrew Prince “fell at the first hurdle” days after being released from his latest stint in prison and has now been placed back behind bars.

Prince admitted a plea of ​​breach of notice requirements. Appearing via video link to HMP Altcourse, he was jailed for a year.

Ian Fitzgibbon

Ian Fitzgibbon was jailed after being exposed as EncroChat user “Vimto Hawk”. The 29-year-old used the encrypted communications platform to trade heroin and cocaine with associates including Niall Barry and Sean Zeisz – the masterminds of the fatal shooting.

He threw his phone out the window of the flat when police came knocking on his door, before telling interviewing detectives he was a ‘big hunk’. The city’s first judge warned him that he could face “a miserable future of serving longer and longer sentences” if he did not start “to live a more honest life”.

Fitzgibbon admitted conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine and possession of criminal property. Appearing in the dock wearing a blue Columbia top and sporting short dark hair, he showed no reaction as he was locked up for 14-and-a-half years.

Shane Dwyer

A homeless man chased and beat another man in Liverpool city centre. Shane Dwyer was begging with his girlfriend on Church Street at around 1am on November 18 last year when the pair approached victim Anthony Johnston, who was in an exit.

Dwyer’s girlfriend asked Mr Johnston for money and he responded in a way that the defendant “perceived was an insult or a sexual advance”. He then chased the other man down the street, first punching and kicking him outside TJ Hughes and again outside Kurt Geiger, before slamming him into the glass window of the last store and leaving him needing 11 stitches on the eyebrow.

Dwyer pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was imprisoned for two years and four months.

Joseph Duffy

A man who had sex with a 14-year-old girl he met online has been caught by police after posting obscene images of children on Instagram. This prompted police to search Duffy’s home and seize four mobile phones, a tablet and a storage device.

They discovered that he had been communicating with a schoolgirl he met on social media and engaged in sexual activities with.

Duffy admitted engaging in sexual activity with a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, communicating sexually with a child, making indecent images of a child, possessing extreme pornographic images and possessing cannabis. He was jailed for seven years and nine months, as well as a further five years on licence.

Jakob Plante

A man kept almost £80,000 of ketamine and tens of thousands of pounds in cash in a storage unit which was rented by his mother. Jakob Plante was devastated after staff noticed his suspicious behavior while his mother paid off the closing arrears.

Plante admitted possession of ketamine with intent to supply and possession of crime paraphernalia. He was imprisoned for 40 months.

Albert Okolo

A dad ‘saw red’ and ‘flattened’ another man in the middle of the road after he saw him knock a baby out of a pram during a row. Albert Okolo punched and kicked the complainant, leaving him seriously injured with a bleed on the brain.

It was six years before he was finally apprehended at Liverpool John Lennon Airport after fleeing to Ireland. He pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and was jailed for 16 months.

Thomas Gray

A teenage drug dealer threw a Molotov cocktail at his rivals and armed himself with a knife but ended up being stabbed. Thomas Gray was caught by a doorbell camera coming out of his house with a burning rag inside a cider bottle.

He returned home after throwing the bottle at two men outside, but came out again moments later with a large knife, which he stuffed into his trousers. A short time later, he was seen staggering back into his home, shirtless and bloodied, shouting “call an ambulance” after being stabbed.

Gray pleaded guilty to burglary, possession of an offensive weapon, threatening with a blade and affray. He was imprisoned for 15 months.

Michael Young

A landscape gardener was offered £500 for extra services by one of his clients and ended up in jail for it. Michael Young hid more than a kilo of cocaine in his home on behalf of a former client with the promise of cash.

Young admitted possession of cocaine and crack cocaine with intent to supply and possession of cannabis. He was sentenced to three years in prison.

Lewis Shackleton

A man who operated a graft phone used to sell crack cocaine and heroin was caught by police in the middle of a drug deal in a park. Police were patrolling Victoria Park in Warrington after reports of drug dealing taking place.

Lewis Shackleton was spotted by police in the park and tried to run away but was quickly caught and arrested. The police found a stolen phone, heroin, crack cocaine and a large amount of cash on his person.

Shackleton pleaded guilty to possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property. He was imprisoned for two years and four months.
