Leeds United weigh alternative to Summerville as Palace winger prepares for loan move

Leeds United could be set for a double transfer following a move for Jayden Bogle from Sheffield United. As Daniel Farke ticks off a position of major concern with the expected arrival of right-back Bogle, he could turn his attention to Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

The winger looks set to leave Selhurst Park for another loan deal after impressing with Charlton Athletic last term. Leeds have reportedly expressed an interest in Rak-Sakyi, with a Championship deal believed to attract the Eagles.

At Leeds, Jack Harrison returned to Everton on loan last month and is preparing for the potential exits of Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto. While United will be hoping to keep hold of at least one of their attacking players, they know big offers could still come for both.

Indeed, Palace are among the clubs weighing up a bid for Summerville, with Michael Olise leaving the south London club for Bayern Munich in a £50m deal. They see the Dutchman as the ideal replacement, although at this stage there is no talk of any deal involving both players.

Leeds have shown with Tottenham and Archie Gray that they will box smart when it comes to transfer offers. Although Joe Rodon joining the Whites on a permanent deal was not part of the Gray negotiations, the fact that the two deals happened at the same time shows that Leeds representatives will ensure the club are not left short in any talks.

Rak-Sakyi has been the subject of interest from Southampton and Sheffield United already this summer, with Saints’ interest rejected as Palace do not want to loan him to a Premier League rival. The 21-year-old scored 15 goals for League One Charlton last season and Palace have high hopes of further developments.
