Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 – What to Expect?

Royal Enfield is slated to debut its next 450cc very soon, which could be the Guerrilla 450. The bike was recently spotted on a test ride and here’s what we expect from it.

Empty body

Although the Guerrilla 450 is based on the Himalayan 450, it has notable differences in terms of styling. The round LED headlight is carried over, but the styling and stance isn’t as high as the Himalayan. The Guerrilla is more road-oriented, and its fuel tank doesn’t seem as powerful as we see on its ADV sibling. Then the pilot’s seat appears to have a deeper cup for a slightly engaging triangle.

Similar performance to Himalayan 450

The Guerrilla 450 will use the same engine as the current Himalayan. It’s called the Sherpa 450 and it’s a 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that churns out 39.47PS at 8,000rpm and 40Nm at 5,500rpm. The engine is connected to a six-speed gearbox. From our experience riding the Himalayas, we hope the Guerrilla 450 gets a lower grunt.

Characteristic

In addition to LED lighting, the Guerrilla 450 could also feature a fully digital instrument cluster. But to keep costs under control, it may be a different unit from the current Himalayan 450. We think it may not be a color TFT.

Hardware

As seen in the spy shot above, the Guerrilla 450 will ride on telescopic ice front forks and a monoshock, while the braking hardware includes a front and rear disc brake setup. This will also include dual-channel ABS. The wheels appear to be 17-inch units wrapped in CEAT tires.

Quoted price

Royal Enfield hasn’t released an official launch date for the Guerrilla 450 yet, but we’ll be riding it in July, followed by a debut soon after. We expect Royal Enfield to price the Guerrilla 450 around Rs. 2.4 lakh-Rs. 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
