Getting off to a great start, Jack Heggie was the first to score when he spotted a gap in the defensive line. He also managed to convert the try for a 6-0 lead in the first minute.

Quick to hit back, Halifax leveled the scores when Wayne Boardman got over the line with Rob Hawkins slotting over the shot.

Next, some electric handling from Heggie and Phil Roberts allowed Wigan to create an overlap which saw Adam Rigby score in the left corner. Heggie converts again.

Unfortunately, straight from kick-off the ‘Fax was on again as a Boardman kick was expertly collected by Harry Brown inches from the touchline. Once he had the ball in his hands, he was able to run and score.

After a period of tight defending, Nathan Roberts was next on the scoresheet when he managed to score from close range. Adding extras again, Heggie made it 18-10 to the Warriors.

Despite only taking the lead at the end of the half, Halifax were able to score once more, this time through Joe Calcott, to take a 30-24 lead into the break.

In the second half, Brown completed his hat-trick and there was just one more try for Wigan to celebrate. That honor went to Nathan Roberts, who benefited from a rousing tackle from his teammates and a final pass from his father, Phil Roberts.
